Thomas Reynolds was one of four prisoners who escaped on January 29, 1900, during Warden Hoyt's last term. His capture and lynching were impacted by the passsage of a law that abolished capital punishment in Colorado in 1897. Comments: Escaped January 22, 1900 about 10 P.M. over East Wall. Captured January 26, 1900 at Florence and lynched at Canon City.
